Dominique Bonnet

Dominique Bonnet is a Principal Group Leader at the Francis Crick Institute, Professor at University College London, division of Biosciences, and Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Child Health. Prof.Bonnet obtained a PhD at the University of Paris VII in 1993, then joining Professor John Dick's laboratory at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, as a research fellow. In 1998, she accepted a position as Group Leader at the Coriell Institute for Medical Research in New Jersery, becoming Assistant Professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. In 2001, she moved to the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London. In 2006, she became a Senior Group Leader at the charity's London Research Institute, now part of the Francis Crick Institute. Prof.Bonnet's research focuses on how new blood cells are made in the bone marrow and understanding the steps that lead to blood cancer. The Bonnet lab uses advanced microscopy techniques to uncover how stem cells grow, divide in both normal coniditions and leukaemia. Also, tha lab works with haematopoietic stem cells are transplanted into immunodeficient mice to see how they grow and repopulate bone marrow.
